  • The Rays always finish strong. September is usually their best month. September records: 2012 18-11, 2011 17-9, 2010 15-14. You don't mess with Tampa in September. I don't know how you can say our pitching might not keep it up, what evidence do you have? Here's mine: ERA this year: April 3.97, May 4.51, June 3.98, July so far 1.83. We keep getting better, Price is a big part of that. Where's yours? I'm talking numbers, not your opinion.

  • That ERA in May 4.51 is pretty bad considering that they were the best team in the Al that month so their offence carried the team that month. June was close to 4. So this team is unbalanced with offensive and defensive production. Yes they got the big guns but the hitting, pitching, and fielding must all come together.

  • It HAS been coming together. They have 9 of their last 10 games. The way the pitchers have been in July.. out of this world pitching, the hitting is in the top 5 in the AL, and our fielding is third best in baseball. Your still not giving me any evidence on why they couldn't win this division!

    • Its only July 8th lets wait and see... The main reason why they wont win the division is that the Red Sox are just too much for them. Right now the Red Sox outranked the Tampa Bay Rays in hitting and pitching. Tampa only is better than the Red Sox at one thing fielding which really comes down to the errors. I just don't see the Rays winning the division because of the Boston Red Sox.

  • Rays have a poor road record 21-22 compared to Boston 26-21. Rays can play at home 32-16 but they got to win on the road and I don't see that happening. The Rays have a 10 game road trip coming off the All Star break and if they don't do well they could be in a deep hole

  • Not saying I necessarily agree that the Rays are GOING to win the AL East but as far as arguments go I'm definitely voting for ASommers due to the fact that he stated facts in everyone of his statements, while the opposition waited until the last opportunity to state any facts. Also, I feel that Sommers' facts are a little more conclusive towards the argument. Do I think the Rays are going to win the AL East? No. Do I think they have a legitimate shot? Yes.
